Market Overview
BTC touched $71k and the timeline immediately forgot about the macro panic. Classic. Total market cap is sitting at $2.39T today, adding $37.81B (+1.6%) since yesterday. But look under the hood.
We've got stablecoins hitting a massive $312B and tokenized stocks crossing the $1B mark. The liquidity is there. So why am I cautious? Because the whales are moving. Bhutan just dumped $42.5M of its national stash. The Winklevoss twins slid $130M in BTC over to Gemini hot wallets. And BlackRock is funneling both BTC and ETH into Coinbase Prime. Distribution disguised as a breakout? Probably.
Bitcoin & Majors
$BTC (+2.19%): We just hit 20 million mined. Only 1 million left for the next 114 years. The scarcity narrative is working overtime today. A major strategy player just aped another $1.23 billion into BTC at a $70,940 average. Let that sink in. They're buying the top, and it's working. BTC dominance is creeping up to 58.38%.
$ETH (+1.99%): Vitalik is pushing this new DVT-lite setup for one-click institutional staking. The Foundation staked 72k ETH. Sounds bullish. But then you read that Sharplink Gaming just reported a $735M paper loss on their ETH bags. Absolute bloodbath for them.
$XRP (+1.84%): Goldman Sachs is now the largest institutional holder of the XRP spot ETF. Wall Street hates crypto until they can package it and sell it to you. They're also floating the XLS-372 privacy amendment for the ledger.
Outliers
$RIVER (+15.64%): Leading the pack today. No major news catalyst in the main feed, just pure technical momentum catching bids.
$HYPE (-1.5%): Arthur Hayes shilled it. It broke $35. And now it's dumping. Classic retail trap. Hyperliquid hit a record $1.2B in open interest, but the token is fading. Fade the influencer.
$AAVE (DeFi Drama): Not a huge price mover today, but $27M just got wiped out in wrongful liquidations. A Chaos Labs oracle update mispriced wstETH collateral. Good positions looked bad, and the protocol executed them. DeFi is still a meat grinder.
Sentiment
My read: 6/10.
We are grinding up, but the smart money is definitely shuffling. When Bhutan, the Winklevoss twins, and BlackRock all move nine figures to exchanges on the exact same day, you don't just blindly long the local top. Watch the sell-side liquidity at $70k. If that support snaps, the bids will vanish faster than a 2021 NFT project. I'm staying mostly in cash and BTC.
