Bitcoin Wallet's 14-Year Dormant Wake-Up Sparks Debate and Market Manipulation Concerns

The wallet holding 80,000 Bitcoins became active after 14 years, sparking widespread discussion. Today, four wallets transferred 40,000 BTC, while another four remain dormant. Currently, 80,009 BTC equates to approximately $8.69 billion, which is significant. There’s even speculation that this wallet could belong to Satoshi Nakamoto, but that seems unlikely to me. If Satoshi is alive, I doubt he would indulge in luxury such as escorts and yachts with his funds after waiting 14 years. Even if he is alive, he probably doesn’t care much about the money. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I believe this could be a typical market manipulation similar to Mt Gox payouts, often cited whenever there's a shift in Bitcoin's local trend. Over time, those claims lost their impact, and I think this situation might be similar. Moreover, markets close on weekends, which are prime times for price manipulation. This could be an attempt to trigger a local panic followed by a buyback. Even if a whale wanted to sell, it’s unlikely they would dump the market outright, as OTC markets exist for redistribution. The current picture shows long-term whale holders gradually selling off their Bitcoins, while institutional investors continue to buy and accumulate predominantly through ETFs. Personally, I transferred 1% of my BTC daily into altcoins when Bitcoin hit $100,000 in November, but that turned out to be a mistake—although it seemed promising given the risk-reward ratio. Now, it’s probably too late to change course.
