Divi Blockchain's Hybrid PoS-W System: Low-Energy Work Proof for Secure Coin Lottery

I see Divi as a Proof of Stake blockchain that incorporates work rather than a traditional Proof of Work system like Bitcoin. It operates on a model called Proof of Stake with work, or PoS(w), where the work done is evidenced by owning and actively participating with coins. Divi's approach involves a brute-force kernel hash with limited hashing rounds—up to 45 per UTXO batch. When my node is competing to produce a valid hash that meets the difficulty, the UTXO batch acts as a multiplier, enhancing my chances without requiring excessive energy consumption. Since I already demonstrate participation through coin ownership, this method doesn't demand high energy expenditure. When I successfully find an acceptable hash, I generate a coinbase transaction, currently worth 581 DIVI, which gets added to the coins I send to myself, effectively increasing my holdings. This process also involves notarizing the block by spending the UTXO batch back to myself, serving as proof of ownership. The coinbase hash, combined with the previous lottery block hash, forms a poker-like ticket which is used in the lottery system. The heavier the hash, the better my chances of winning, emphasizing the importance of having significant coin ownership and effective participation. Overall, Divi's hybrid approach blends proof of stake with a work-based verification, producing a lower-energy yet competitive consensus mechanism. The system incentivizes coin ownership and participation, which is crucial for the network’s security and functionality.
