Ladder BTC Sales to Reach Cash Target While Preserving a Core Hold

I'm clearing alts according to plan and now debating whether to apply the same laddered profit-taking to Bitcoin. I'm considering selling one unit every $5,000 of BTC upside toward my cash target, but not selling everything.
