Protecting Yourself from Crypto Scams: A Personal Cautionary Tale
Two weeks ago, I fell victim to a scam where I was coerced into linking my crypto.com application to an onchain account, under the false pretenses of making a profit. The scammers persuaded me that by depositing 1000 units, I could earn 12,000 within 12 hours. They then claimed my funds were frozen and prompted me to deposit additional money to unlock my assets. As I continued to deposit more, they kept the money and asked for further deposits, revealing it was a scam. I have screenshots of my crypto.com transaction history and the Telegram chat to support my case.
