A solo Bitcoin miner successfully mined block number 907283 on July 27, earning 3.154 BTC, which is approximately $374,945 at the current exchange rate. The miner used equipment with a total hash rate of just 49 TH/s. CKpool administrator Con Kolyvas remarked that the chance of such an event occurring is roughly 1 in 130,000 per day. Similar achievements have been made by clients of Promminer. Prior to the recent halving, client Alexander mined a block using only a Whatsminer M30S at 90 TH/s and received a reward of 6.25 BTC. These instances demonstrate that even a solo miner with a modest hash rate can successfully mine a block and earn a substantial reward.
