Prefer CEX or stablecoin routes over direct ETH swaps for Chromia (CHR)
I think swapping ETH directly for CHR on a DEX is often suboptimal because it can incur high slippage and gas costs, especially for larger orders or when liquidity is thin. I prefer routes that minimize price impact and trading fees.
When possible I buy CHR on a reputable centralized exchange using fiat or stablecoins (USDT/USDC) and use limit orders to get a better execution. If a CEX isn’t available, I use a DEX aggregator (1inch, ParaSwap, Matcha) or route via a stablecoin pair to reduce slippage rather than a single ETH swap.
Before buying I always check current liquidity, token contract address, slippage settings, and do a small test trade. For cross-chain versions of CHR I confirm the correct bridge and token standard to avoid receiving the wrong asset.
